IN MEMORIAM – AGUSTIN (PAPO) SANTANA, JR. (21 NOVEMBER 2002)

I join the voices of so many friends and fellow amateur radio operators who had the pleasure of knowing this fine man who was Papo, WP4Q. I had the unique honor of knowing him when I arrived on the island in 1976, being neighbors in Villa Carolina from 1976 to 1977. They were Agustincito (the "Juey Menor"), then WP4EQG, with his father Don Augie (the "Juey Mayor") KP4CKY and Papo's loving and indefatigable mother Doņa Esperanza who welcomed me as a virtual adoptive daughter. It is with much heartfelt sadness that we bid farewell to such dear companions who are now reunited as a family in heavenly glory. May they rest in peace.
