We were back at the car by 4pm, making a round trip
ascent-activation-descent time of 5 hours. We just about had enough time to
do another summit. We has hoped to do the pair of Mynydd Troed GW/SW-009
and Mynydd Llangorse GW/SW-015, which share the same parking spot, but
realistically, time remained only for one. I drove to the road coll between
them, and asked the boys to have a look and choose one. The both pointed at
SW-015, and I was relieved! SW-009 look a very stiff climb, and of course
was around 100m more of a vertical climb than SW-015.

We followed the track to the right of the ridge, which actually gradually
descends for a while. Eventually, a track cuts up the fellside and turns up
onto the summit. We set up on the cairn, and after much calling Dave G0EVY
(Bromsgrove) was worked. Another 35 minutes of calling brought nowt and I
was beginning to regret my choice of this one, tucked neatly in and screened
behind SW-009, which would have had a much superior take-off. Things must
have been desperate, because we got out the fishing pole and 40m dipole.

Suddenly, this was great fun. 40m was a doddle at this time of day, and
good contacts were had with LA0HK in Halgerson, MI0UNA in Derry and MI0LJM
in Bushmills. I was tempted to play radio for a bit, but three rumbling
tummies did not agree. We completed a neat circular walk by descending on
the ridge path. Next stop was the Bell in Talgarth for another great feed
and a beer.
Thanks to the following stations, the first worked on 2m FM with 2.5 watts,
and the rest on 40m SSB with 5 watts:
