Brian's Kayak Journal
The Kayak Assembly Building (KAB) - exterior. Also known as my detached garage. People tell me how great it would be for a workshop
(there is electricity, including 220 volt, and even a phone jack).
The main use it has seen is storing power boats over the winter. After I am done I can say I have used it as a workshop.
NEWS: I have launched my kayak!
Introduction
Someday I might want to possibly consider of maybe building a plane (perhaps)(probably not)
But before I do that, I though a test project might be in order. I decided to build a kayak.
The easiest kind to make is a stitch-and-glue from a kit.
CLC and Pygmy are the Coke and Pepsi of the business,
but I decided on Roy Folland.
There are plenty of other kayak journals on the web. They may focus on their modifications.
They may focus on ad-ons like deck compasses, bilge pumps and carts.
My focus will be showing a (almost complete)
novice building a kayak. Maybe you will be inspired, or scared, or both. But don't expect expert building advice.
I plan on keeping track of the time it takes me.
The numbers you see is the number of hours worked that day, and the total number of hours worked.
I considered keeping track of average hrs/day and maybe I will do that at the end but I decided against doing every day.
All times will be rounded to the nearest tenth of an hour.
In general, I will not count the time waiting for epoxy to dry.
I am curious how many visitors I get, but am not keeping track
Entries will be in chronological order (oldest entry at top) This page will not always be updated every day.
