Drove 90 minutes to my eastern FN22 hilltop. With rain and thunderstorms in the
forecast, I left the 4-stack omni home due to the long setup and teardown time,
and kept it stupidly simple by using my 6-el rover Yagi. I did hear lightning
static crashes on the entire trip to the hilltop, but I never saw lightning
flashes after sunset or heard any thunder. All the rain fell in the 8:00 hour
and then stopped at 9:00 when I had to tear down and head home despite hearing
new stations. Activity level was good even without any propagation boost. Best
DX was 413 mi / 665 km into southern Ohio and he was 529.
