Rover Station (QRT for now)

Icom 746pro and Directive Systems 6el 8' Rover yagi. Mostly run portable, but some casual operation from the QTH. I operate SSB, and WSJT Meteor Scatter Mostly. I want to say Thank you to Gedas, W8BYA for all the countless hours of time he put into helping me get a station that would work well for portable Meteor Scatter!

Audio From K4N grid Expedition MS QSO  954 Miles Via Meteor Scatter

N3RG in New Jersey, I was in FM26. Here  179 Miles with some Coastal Tropo

K1TEO In Connecticut, Here 339 Miles with some Coastal Tropo

So far the longest contact under flat conditions was W1XX in Rhode Inland 393 miles, and K2LIM in NY state mid day @ 363 miles.

On 07/26/2013 I was attempting MS with Gedas, W8BYA, when there was about a 25 second long burst of FSK tones. Here

I realized that 1 of several things were happening, either we were getting a huge meteor, Tropo, or Sporadic E's so I grabbed the mic and called. Here

Here is the rest of the audio I was able to capture. Here  Fort Monroe in Hampton VA, to Fort Wayne IN..... 545 miles

Old Station Info:

Main VHF station is an Icom 746Pro and an Arrow 4 element yagi on a tripod. I am working on extending the boom of the yagi and adding 3 more directors. I also have the Icom 706 and Tokyo high power HV-160 amp for taxing digital modes and portable operation. I plan to be portable a couple of time in the near future from FM26. I will have some QSL cards made for those contacts. It is a humble station, with less than ideal operating conditions, but I work with what I have available and enjoy the challenge. First DX contact on 2m......

N3LL 778 miles, 50 watts on the IC-706 and THP amp. Beam on the tripod in my 3rd story condo.

Portable operations from FM17
