Hallicrafters S-38C
Picked this rig up cheap to go along with my Globescout 65A, this rig is rough and in desperate need of work. As you can see it has its share of corrosion and is electrically stock. The first order of buisness will be to replace the capacitors and clean and nutralize the corrosion. If the unit works I will look at refinishing the case.
1. Neutralize the corrosion, and clean chassis and lube moving parts.
2. Replace capacitors, and perform safety modification, add polarized line plug.
3. Fire it up and test it.
I will be looking at refinishing the cabinet and obtaining the materials to screen print the front of the receiver.
