Blended Family
Sibling relations are seldom a snap,
But I find that it frequently taxes our powers
When our offspring succumb to the rivalry trap:
Your kids and my kids are picking on ours.
Shifting alliances often can mean
That hostility eases and friendship endures.
But now I behold an incredible scene:
My kids and our kids are picking on yours.
Faster than I can remember their names
I am seeing the balance of power realign.
It's no use in pondering who is to blame,
Your kids and our kids are picking on mine.
Still I'm delighted in having them near,
But there is a matter we need to discuss.
Since they outnumber us I've come to fear
Your kids and my kids and our kids all picking on us.
