NVIS NET
Several
of our members and other local participants are very interested in Near
Vertical Incidence SkyWave (NVIS) transmission, which allows local
communications on HF frequencies without using a VHF Repeater, and
often providing service withiout an appreciabe "skip zone" and farther
out than a VHF Repeater usually reaches.
This
local net meets on 1st and 3rd Friday evenings at 7 PM on 3.970 MHz,
Lower Side Band (LSB) or there-abouts depending on other stations
having prior use of the frequency.
The net manager for this net
is Reid Tillery K9RFT, and everyone is invited to participate.
It is usually short, with a few discussions of signal levels and small
experiements and chit-chat.
