The DUDE-STAR software is a multi mode digital voice modul (program).

It was mention by a fellow ham OZ1KEF. When we talked about getting a hotspot for my DMR radio, mainly because no access to Branmaster via repeaters in the area.

So I began looking around on the web to find. But the first version wasn't working on my windos 8. So the search was continued and then I found:

A web-site in Italian (https://dgt-network.blogspot.com/p/documenti-manuali.html), but with the help off translation.
Here there is two versions for windows and one for Droid phones:
And another site for download and acces to "github" files:

But U can also download the sofware her:
dudestar_x86
dudestar_x64
Droid Starfor phones
If U want then as ZIP-files:
Dude star (32 bi).zip _86 version
Dude star (64 bit).zip _64 version

It's possibel to get some hints on how to set the dude-star up. Here my ini-fil.dudestar.ini

The yuotube have plenty of info such as:Lots of generel information here: at KD8BMY "DMR Using Dude-Star. No Radio or Hotspot needed. Just a computer, mic and speakers" :

OR

TECHMINDS "DUDESTAR Digital Mode Access Via Computer DSTAR DMR FUSION P25 NXDN IAX M17":

I've made some notes on my own setting the DUDE-star up:

After making some test runs using only the builtin microphone in my laptop. I've found that making the PC work with i.e. packing files(hard work), makes the sendt signal fall out. That was tested using the "parrot 9990" on BM. Remenber to check "privat-box" and wait for the return. Else U wont get a return from the parrot.

Here is in yellow typed in the disriptions of setting.

As You can see there is some kind off work ajusting the mikegain.
As it is i did get ok repports on some of those. BUT the next day it wasn't working!!

Now I have seenthat the PC shouldn't be working with somethings else like doing a virusscan... Then the signalgets gets cutup = damaged. The last settings for sound in TX-mode that seemed to be working, thats with ok repports is as follows:

I have also seen that the DUDE-star software should be in control of mike on the pc!!

In BM-mode:

In C4FM-mode:

Earlier experiments on the mike-settings.

Here is the volume setting for the mike in BM-mode at first.

Here the exstension for the mike, they where kept as is.

Later after som testing -it appears that it needs differnt settings depending on mode:
In BM-mode:

The codec level was adjusted.

in the DMR+ mode:

In DSTAR mode I haven't got the hang of it, their was a noise, hard to cancel out... Trying later to do that.
