Hello Joe - tnx for the continuing good work. Re these "EME" loggers: since this topic was
discussed at the conference I thought I would try a couple of them out to see if I could get
more contacts [432 MHz] but I am now of the opinion that they should be called "Lonely Hearts
loggers" since they mainly comprise trivial chat to keep in touch with the next guy that
also has nobody to talk to. It was mentioned at the conference that there are already
sufficient mechanisms in place to stimulate & organise activity & I think that further
loggers or even the existing ones are unnecessary for anyone with serious intentions.
Worked Ruediger DL9JY with an excellent 4 yagi signal this morning for his first EME contact
& it is great to have a new station around.
Regards to all, 73`s, Trevor, VK4AFL.

JOE
I know you realize I appreciate what the net has done for me but I want to post a testimonial
so to speak with regard to 432 & above and the omission of the 432 & above net from a conference
that I wanted to attend but could not because a business conflict. So I guess I can not say
much but I will in Germany. I am sorry for the insult cast on you and the history of the 432
& above net.
In retrospect it is clear to me that if it were not for the 432 & above net I would have been
lucky to complete more than 20 contacts on 432 when I began. Sorry to say but I have been
forced to abandon 432 due to Interference from a local hospital but in the record book will go
65 initial contacts to faithful 432 operators.
Thanks goes to the skeds arranged by none other than K1RQG and his net. So you see the net
remains helpful even to the seasoned EME veteran. If I could begin again I would “ Check-in ”
even with nothing to offer or not ready to operate EME. I realize now that a strong showing
of EME interest is important and simple check-in shows that. You may ask why didn’t you
check-in today then? Sorry I forgot it was Saturday.
I also offer my thanks to Moon-net and it’s service.
Now that I am ready to operate 1296 EME I’m back on the net looking for help to get the word
out K9SLQ is available for skeds anytime, you name it.
I would like to take this opportunity to suggest to those who read this on moon-net that they
take time to reflect, dust off the old HF rig and check-in with the 14.345, 432 & above net
the next Sat or Sun you have a chance, even if it is only with a TNX and No Traffic.
Thanks for your service Joe

Joe,
I was on for a short time calling cq but heard nothing but my echos.
Will be on in the contest though. The birch trees up here are starting
to drop their leaves and so will be able to hit lower declinations this
winter. Anyway catch you later.

Dear friends
HB9Q will be QRV during the italian contest on 144, 432 and 1296 MHz. Our focus will be on
432 MHz. We will be QRV on 144 and 1296 every now and then. If you wish to work us on one
of the bands let us know, especially 144 and 1296, so we make QSY during the time you can
be QRV.
We will be logged-in at the jt65-logger.
September 11th moonrise at 01.45z, moonset at 16.45z
September 12th moonrise at 02.45z, moonset at 17.00z
As allways our frequencies are:
144.040 +- for CW and 144.140 +- for jt65b
432.020 +- for CW and 432.040 +- for jt44
1296.015 +- for CW

Hope to work many of you!

Joe
I worked OH6NVQ on 2304 MHz last night for initial #56.
Then spent the rest of the time listening for AD6FP and RW3BP on 47 GHz but conditions did
not seem very good. I think we are going to try again tonite.

W9IIX: working on the moon .. just checking out stuff.. may not be on moon.. all antennas
are off the main tower finally.. now time to rebuild.. [reults of wind storm]
K0YW: lots of activity on moon.. all is working well.. was on 1100z looking for W9IIX..
ran out of moon with NA4N, but heard him well. worked W7BBM and K9SLQ.. 1296.01528
been on moon with NA4N, but no joy.. tracking off on elev for NA4N.. K0YW will
be on at 1130z on 9/6 .. also with W9IIX & NA4N.. so there will be some activity on
Labor Day.. Snow on the mountain peaks in distance.. winter on its way..
WE9D: needs a little space for emergency traffic.. moved net up to 14.3455 mhz..
W2UHI: out of moon in the trees at this time.. 10:17 AM 9/5/04 .. putting an FO-12 together
and needs special connectors for 8214 .. did not get up in time to get on moon..
trees are a problem to the West.. Frank will get up early and get on MOON on Monday
morning and hopes to see some USA stations on. [Labor Day] .. tracking the sun
precisely.. s/n 17.4 ,, cs/gnd 6db.. 71deg K !!! all systems goes..
K9SEM: VARO..
K7XQ/M: on way to hamfest.. presently moving to a new location. QRT on EME, but will have
room for amtennas.. and hopes to have antennas up for contest..
K9SLQ: good time this morning...
NA4N: lot of stations on.. but not good results..
VE4MA: was up all night listening on 47ghz on EME .. was listening for AD5FP.. but nil
heard.. also did not hear RW3BP.. Segei was hearing own echoes though ... still
working on p/s for TWT.. also working on SDR-1000.. likes the receive on SDR..
K5JL: was not on moon..
K9BCT/M: no major dammage.. FT Lauderdale.. lost some tree limbs and roof shingles.. storm
passed a bit North.. only lost power for about 1.5 hours.. all is well in S FL ..
still a lot of rain and winds at 25 mph.. to West still getting high winds 100mph.
WA1JOF: got to get to work ..
F5VHX: Graham expresses his comments about the current activity situation and the effects
of intenenet comms vs radio comms.. ETC.
SM2CEW: was on 70cm and called CQ .. good echoes.. no other sigs.. SK0UX, WA6PY, OZ4MM
were worked on 23cm.. suggestion by HB9BBD of one moon pass is not real feasible
as at high declination SM2CEW would have moon for 48 hours continuous which would
be unfair ?????? !!!!!!!
SM4IVE: just in from cutting grass.. says SM2CEW needs 48 hours to overcome his handicap.
The proposal by HB9BBD is not feasible.. this is to be fun..
WB7QBS: yagis are up and feedline run.. 4x22ele FO yagis.. looking good in the air..
SWR is fine.. az/el.. now looking into stuff from DEMI.. still no e-mail from
whomever was going to send e-mail .. needs to see how to connect preamp with
2 feedlines.. one for xmit & one for receive.. wife helped and all is well..
W7MEM: hopes to hear Glenn WB7QBS on next weekend contest..
WB0GGM/M: heading out to do some moto-cross.. [practice]
N4PU: needs a copy of F1EHN program .. has a comera on dish now..
K0TAR/M: .. reminder of audio streaming..
KB8RQ/M: running SDR radio, but some glitches..
KD0NL/M: radio check..
W4VOL/M: was on EME many years ago ..
KC9AVR: Mark.. FT-897 ..
W1GRE: Greg..
