PATTERSON San Antonio Express-News Joe. C. Patterson, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2001 in San Antonio. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and Perfect Union Masonic Lodge. Joe was a retired GS civilian from the Airborne Division of the DCS/Engineering, USAFSS. He was instrumental in the development of the EC-47 Aircraft systems used in the Vietnam War. He worked closely with ÔE' Systems on this project. Joe was an Advanced Class amateur radio operator W5VY since the 1940's. He most recently was deeply involved in the VHF/UHF SSB portion of the hobby. He was involved with THE MOTHER HOUSE, Building 1000, Kelly AFB. Joe's gift of dry humor will be missed by all! He was preceded in death by his wife, Ottis B. Patterson. Surviving are his daughter, Patricia Sanders of Riverview, FL; sisters, Evelyn Lovell of Dallas, TX, and Marcile Stallcup of Rachos de Taos, NM; nieces, Marilyn Sue Crober of Port Lavaca, TX, Lena Rea Clounch of Keller, TX, Betty Green Gray of Houston, TX; nephew, John Wallace Beck of Lubbock, TX; grandsons, Scott, Clint and Lane Sanders; granddaughter, Sorrell Sanders Hoover; one great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons, many great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, May 14, 2001, 1:00 P.M. in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.Sunset Funeral Home. 05/13/2001 |
