The "Wire Party"

Or, how we spent 16 km of wire in one weekend

Hmmm.. Maybe it should have been named "The weird party"!?

After getting QRV on the higher bands (ie 10-40) we found ourselves being QRT on 80 and 160. Since we have a bunch of Top Band hot-shots in the club, the top priority was of course to get back on 160 as soon as possible.

The plan was to use the tower with the 40m beam on top as a wire support, and then mount a four-square around that tower.

The first weekend in October, about 10 club members under the command of SM3BDZ spent two days of spreading radials in the grass. A total of 60 radial wires (1/4 wl) per antenna were mounted, but the final goal is to add up to a total of 120 per antenna. (We couldn't find more wire in such a short time...)
