ARES - RACES - SKYWARN

Standard Operating Procedures

If power goes out or if any other actual or potential emergency condition exists, all stations should monitor the repeater.

If power is off for more than 1/2 hour , net control should bring up an emergency net on the repeater. If no regular net control station is available, any station available should assume net control and call the net.

Once checked in to the net, stations should not leave the net without notifying net control and obtaining permission, unless safety concerns prohibit contacting net control prior to closing station.

If the repeater is down, then the net will operate simplex on the repeater output frequency (147.165). In this case, the repeater will be checked periodically (approximately every 15 minutes) to determine its status.

All wide-area VHF operations will take place on the repeater frequency unless there is a need for alternate or additional frequencies, in which case, the pre-arranged frequencies will be used.
