Award rules
Greek Lighthouse Award has
been instituted by the Northern
Greece Contest Team and will be issued to any Ham Radio
operator or SWL for QSOs with (or reports from) amateur radio
stations operating from Greek's lighthouses.
The aim of the award is to encourage
and promote amateur radio activity from Greek lighthouses, both
by local hams and those from abroad, which also will promote Greek
tourism.
The idea for the Greek Lighthouse Award came from Savas, SV2AEL.
Design of Diploma came from SV2HRV, Diana and SV2CWV, Kwstas.

There are no band and mode restrictions.
Repeated contacts with the same lighthouse are not credited. All
QSOs with Greek lighthouses (not lighth-ships) after 1st July,
1993 are valid.
Award applicants do not need to
send received QSL cards, however, they must have them in possession.
Manager will have the right to check one or several cards on request.
Award is available after receipt of properly filled application
form. On line application form also available here.
Data requested in this application form are the following:
Callsign, lighthouse name, date, time, frequency, mode and report
and the official ARLHS registration number, such as ARLHS GRE
120.

lights and submit the application form ( QSL's not required).

The G.LH.A is also available for
short-wave listeners (SWL), under the same conditions as for licenced
hams.
Rules for lighthouses activators.
Activators must comply with the
following requirements:
a) Contacts must be made from inside the lighthouse or closely
nearby
(proven by photograph showing lighthouse, antenna or equipment),
b) Photograph with all operators during expedition must be submitted,
c) Minimum QSO requirement is 100 contacts made from each lighthouse
(proven by log copy or email list).
d) Each activator must reply to all QSL cards received.
Manager has a privilege to disqualify an expedition for GLHA program,
if he decides it did not comply with the requirements or the rules
of ham spirit.
Activators do not pay any fees
for diploma. However, when submitting their free application,
they must provide cover for sufficient postal expenses.
