Slow-scan Television ( SSTV ) is a popular application for transmitting still images over the air from one station to another. The captured image is being coded by special devices ( such as VC-H1 for Kenwood D-7 ) and is transmitted by a transceiver in a specific mode ( Martin1-2, Fast FM, Robot 36 (color), AVT 94, Scottie, etc.). When the coded signal is received it is being decoded in order to see the image.
There are also special programs which use PC's Sound Card for coding/decoding SSTV Images such as MMSSTV.
In this page you will find information on how to construct an SSTV coder/decoder.
This construction uses PC's serial port and a VHF/HF transceiver.
