Procedures

Suggested net procedure

The following is a suggested net procedure. We encourage all net control stations to put their own personal touch on the net when they call it. This is just a guideline to assist. All we ask is that the net be a check in and comment format, anything else added is optional.

Good evening and welcome to the Tri-cities/Mountain Empire weekly digital fusion net. This is (name / call) net control station for this evening’s net.

We will now have the pledge of allegiance before we begin the net. We ask that you please stand, remove any non-religious head gear, face the flag if you have one available, place your hand over your heart (veterans may render a salute) and repeat after me:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

This net meets each Tuesday night at 9:30 p.m. eastern time in the QSO America room 43815 (FCS4 Room 54). The Bristol Amateur radio club fusion room 61243 will serve as a backup should the BARC room be down at net time.

Whenever possible recordings of this net are uploaded to the Ham Radio Zone YouTube channel and/or broadcast live. Visit the net website at tcme.club for net info and links to these and other pages.

This net emanates from the Tri- cities area consisting of counties in northeast TN and the Mountain Empire of Southwest VA. This net features connections from the Bristol TN/VA 146.670 and the MEARS 443.000 (White top Mtn VA) C4FM repeaters which cover most of the Tri-Cities/Mountain Empire Region.

Thanks to a partnership with the Friends of Amateur Radio Group (FARG) allowing us to use QSO America we now have nodes and repeaters connected in Jasper, GA and Harvey, IL, with more to come. Thank you to those who connect just for the net as well.

Check us out on netlogger (available at netlogger.org) to follow the net. You can also access the net from any internet capable device at k3clr.com via his on-air net scraper.

All amateurs are welcome to check in.

We will now begin taking check-ins. When checking in please give your name, call, location and advise if you are going to be in and out.

(Optional) We will now reveal our net topic for tonight. As always commenting on the topic is optional and any other comments are welcome.(After topic read the list of check ins letting each person know who to pass to. Give first name and call sign of each station.)
