VE7SL RADIO NOTEBOOK

My 630m QSLs

If you’ve ever wondered what can be worked on the 630m Medium Frequency ham band (472-479kHz), here is my active collection of QSLs for completed two-way contacts over the past few years. Credits go to May (VA7MAY) and Mark (VA7MM) for scanning all of the cards … thanks guys! Although this band is ideal for strong local groundwave communications, during the fall and winter season, skywave communications can often be exceptionally good. My present ‘state count’ stands at 39 but unfortunately, not every state has 630m activity. The modes used here vary from CW to JT9 and FST4, which has replaced JT9 as the original go-to digital mode for MF two-way contacts.

If you are considering a station for 630, many of these cards will provide details of the transmitter, receiver and antenna systems used to make the contact. When conditions are good, not a lot of power is needed as can be seen from some of the cards.

Hopefully I can add your card to my collection in the future!
