Education Resources

Would you like to study Electronics or Amateur Radio,
but can't find a class near you?
You can now study online, by correspondence, or by video tape.

The WIA VK2 Division offers a Correspondence Course for the
NAOCP (Novice) Amateur licence, and a bridging course to the
AOCP (Full Call) licence

Novice Course

The Novice Course consists of a Theory Manual and a Study Guide which
includes revision questions, with answers, on each chapter.

The Course takes the form of home study in three sections,
chapters 1 - 5, 6 - 9, and 10 - 14.
When the student feels confident enough he/she applies to the office
For a Test Examination on Section 1.

The office on receipt of the request will send out Test Paper No1.
which has multiple choice questions based on Chapters 1 - 5.
The test paper is then returned to the office for marking and assessment
by a Course Supervisor before being returned to the candidate.

When the Answer Sheet is returned,
apart from the comments made by the Supervisor,
a "Correct Answer Sheet" is also enclosed
which not only shows the correct answer to each question
but also the reference page of the manual.
In this way if any question was answered incorrectly
the student, hopefully, can see where he/she went wrong.

Each section's test paper has an increasing number of questions, i.e.
Test 1 has 20 questions, Test 2 has 30 questions, and Test 3 has 40 questions.
After satisfactorily completing Test 3,
a complete 50 question Trial ACA Examination Paper
is forwarded to the student,
again to be returned for marking and assessment.

The layout and type of questions closely resemble the paper
the candidate will be presented with in an actual Licence Examination.
Each test paper after No1, apart from covering the appropriate chapters,
also includes revision questions on previous chapters.

The cost - the princely sum of $52 including postage.

AOCP Bridging Course

The Bridging Course, which is availablel,
operates similarly and the cost is also $52.

These Correspondence Courses are ONLY available
through the VK2 Division Office in Parramatta.

Advantages:
* Learn at your own pace
* Low cost
* No need to attend classes away from home

The Novice Course gets you on the air easily, and the
AOCP Bridging Course gets you the licence upgrade
for those extra bands and power privileges.
