The GERIATRICS NET

They wake up in the morning and pinch themselves,
saying I"m still alive, so they then get on this net and tell their mates.

Every morning except Sunday at 8-30am on simplex 146.450 MHz.
On Sunday they hear each other call back after the WIA news.

There is no pre-requirement for joining in, although being retired is useful,
and if you have CRAFT (Can Remember A Few Things) it might help.

Everyone is welcome to call in and stay
for as long as they can put up with the other participants.

I guess too many became Silent Keys

THE YOUTH GROUP OF W.A. ?

Well I guess the Youth of yesteryear grew up, and went their separate ways.

Is there a Radio (Teacher) Amateur out there
who would be able to start a new and more permanent youth group
(with a continuing supply of youth)?

THE SOUTHERN RIVER GROUP ?

A group of amateurs used to monitor the 2 metre simplex frequency of 145.250 MHz
and the 70cm frequency of 438.000 MHz.

While they were in their radio shacks of an evening
they would call to inform the others of any good DX stations on the air
or just chat about life in general but radio in particular.

This group would work most of the contests,
and would make large (rombic) antennas and go bush to test them.

Once a year they would go to a hotel in the area and call it the AGM.
The last person to arrive would be made the President.

This area should be able to sustain a more formal group now,
so how about it, it only needs (someone) to start the ball rolling,
will it be you ?
