200 words for the 1991 WIA Council Election
I believe families that play together stay together, When Cliff became the Treasurer in 1981 I became a regular visitor and for ten years now have attended most Council meetings. With the exception of a rest in 1989, I have been a Councillor of the Division since 1984, and I feel this has given me a sound knowledge of the way a council should work.

This coupled with my previous work experience of office administration, and Computer Systems Analysis, I believe qualifies me for a further term and I feel I still have much to contribute.

I am a member and, Past President 1988/89 of the W.I.A. W.A. Division, and I held the position of divisional Book Sales officer for six years 1983 till 1989.

I am the Membership Secretary of the Repeater Group, the Broadcast Officer for the Western Australian Amateur Digital Communications Association and a member of the Australian Ladies Amateur Radio Association.

I am dedicated to our hobby and keep abreast of current developments, and am available and ready to offer help, information and advice.

I was concerned, for the future of Amateur Radio and the Wireless Institute, but, 18 Nominations for 9 positions, proves Amateur Radio is alive and kicking, in W.A. at least.

If re-elected I will represent all members to the best of my ability.

Re-elected to the VK6 Council in 1991.

VK6WIA Xmas Party - Drawing the Hamper Prize Winner
Just a little about my background in a nutshell.
Born in Wiltshire during wartime evacuation, spent my schooling years in the Medway Towns (Gillingham/Rainham) in Kent, after school I went to
the big smoke (London/Middlesex) where I moved about
(Kilburn/Golders Green) and (Greenford/Wembley) then went to Yorkshire
(Mirfield/Dewsbury) near Leeds where we started the family.
We came to Australia (Adelaide/Perth) from England in 1974
and are now also Australian.

I began working with computers in 1964, the old unit record machines and mainframe computers (IBM, ICL).   Oh yes, I meet Cliff in 1961.
Started with a brewery introducing their old manual system to computing,
I began at the bottom of the ladder, punching all the Hotel's names and addresses onto paper tape, then moved on to magnetic tape control,

I had a spell with a hair products firm producing invoices and stock control etc., then moved to a computer services bureau as a machine room supervisor before progressing on to systems analysis for a new accounting system.

Then came the family.   I never got a degree, too busy working all hours, hi-hi.

I became a member of the W.I.A in 1983 and gained ALOCP in 1984.
