W3KM - Skeduler - Date/Time schedule software

SKEDULER is a `multiple alarm` clock used by contesters. Up to 40 alarms can be set in each sequence. The date and time of each alarm is entered into the schedule form. If you need more than 40 sked alarms, make a second skeds table and save it to a second filename, then load it at the appropriate time. In the last alarm of the previous sequence, add a note to remind you to load the next alarm sequence file.

NOTE: Load the first skeds file before exiting Skeduler, so it will be the file used when you start the program at contest time.

Options and quick HELP are available by using the right-mouse click function on the main screen. A standard WinHlp32 help file is also available. If this file does not open within Skeduler, download WinHlp32 from Microsoft as detailed in the FAQ. A .chm help file and an HTML flat help file are also stored in the application`s folder.

You can move the application anywhere on the desktop and the position is saved on exit. The Skeds Table form can be re-sized to fit your video resolution. The size and position is saved when you click [Done].

Select UTC time format and UTC hour offset, which is applied to the alarm function. This allows the PC`s clock to remain in the local time mode, as it does in all of my loggers. The UTC offset that you select is checked against the PC`s system UTC setting at program start, to indicate DST or STD time changes.

Skeduler runs the scheduled alarms in the order of the skeds table - the software does not scan for the next alarm sequence! Enter your schedules in the skeds table. When you click a date cell or to the next date cell, the date is propagated. Edit it as needed. The skeds are saved to the default file when you click [Done]. If you have more than 40 sked alarms, do {Save Sked file} and name a new file like for example. Clear the table and enter more skedules. In alarm #40 of the previous sequence, add a note to remind you to load the next alarm sequence file. Keep track of your sked files if you use more than one.

NOTE: Load the first skeds file before exiting Skeduler, so it will be the file used when you start the program at contest time.

If you have sked alarms out of date/time order, use the [Re-order] function to put them in proper date/time sequence, so the alarms run in proper order. If during the contest you want to change a sked time, use [Re-order] to put the change in the proper sequence. If you want to add a sked at any time, add it at the end of the skeds table and hit [Re-order].

Always make backup copies of your schedule data files either in MyComputer or by using {Save Sked file}. After using {Save Sked file} to make a backup, remember to re-load the original file using {Load Sked file}, otherwise you will be using/editing the back-up file.

A comment field is entered on the appropriate line while filling in the skeds table and is displayed when the alarm triggers. Ex: Alarm time: 2014. Comment: 2015: K1WHS 10368.120, 45 deg. The comment field is limited to 60 characters. A partial comment (30 characters) is displayed for the current alarm.

The alarm is selectable for either a silent alarm or wave file alarm. You can use your own wave file, although it must be named . If you select the continuous alarm function, the alarm wave file runs continuously until you press the [Stop] button. The file is a dummy file. No stop file = no stop. A selectable option is used to display the Alarm message pop-up or not.

An option to disable the Alarm window`s `Close` button is available. When the alarm goes off, an `active` close button can be selected by default while typing in the logger - this closes the alarm window before you get a chance to read it. With the `Close` button disabled, you can move the alarm window off to the side of your logging app. Upper-right-X closes the alarm window and saves the size and position.

This application will run minimized, the alarm time (or status) is displayed in the system tray.

The skeds table datafile is format specific: If you change it in NotePad, it must be in the original delimited format. Do not use and do not add or remove as this will change the columns, which will corrupt the file.

The date format is: MM/DD/YY ex: 01/21/12. Time format: 24-hour time HHMM ex: 0115.
