This is the Bouvet planning page. It was great to be able to share my ideas for how to take advantage of the rare opportunity to contact a DXpediton to Bouvet Island. I look forward to hearing the responses of the membership and their ideas for how best to accomplish contact with 3Y0J during their stay on the island. Your comments about various ways we might track the DXpedition en route are very interesting. Could you supply more detail as to how to access these sources of information? Weather conditions and sea conditions are so bad in the Southern Ocean that travel estimates are very unreliable. As a result, we cannot predict in advance when the group will be transmitting from the island. We would need ongoing updates so that we could time our arrival at the Texas City Dike.
