West Central Florida is one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the fastest growing part of the state of Florida. In January of 1999 the WEST CENTRAL FLORIDA SECTION COMMITTEE was formed. The purpose of the committee was to promote the creation of a new American Radio Relay League Section to better serve ARRL members in Charlotte, DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota counties. Please see the WCF Section Proposal text for more information. As of January 31, 2000 the committee has been dissolved with the successful creation of the WCF Section. Who is the West Central Florida Section Committee? The committee is comprised of amateur radio operators through out this nine county area of Florida who firmly believe that the future of amateur radio depends on strong leadership by the elected and appointed ARRL section leadership. The members of the committee are leaders in their local amateur radio community. We recognize that the committee members form the basis for a part of the future leadership of a West Central Florida Section Committee. We are committed to working together to make the new section a reality and will follow through with the plans we have outlined in our section proposal! You can find out more information on who the members of the West Central Florida Section Committee are. For more information, email the West Central Florida Section Committee.
