538th Engineer Maintenance Company Korea


The 538 was attached to 2nd Division at Fort Lewis Washington prior to being deployed to Korea.

The 538th Engeneer Maintenance Company was part of the 4th Ordnance Bn was in every phase of the Korean War. The 4th was under the 60th Ordnance Group during the war. After the Armistice the 4th moved to Uijongbu and the 538th Engeneer Maintenance Company ended up just west of Camp Casey, at a small camp in Tongduchon called Camp Nimble.

During the early years, the Camp was just known as the 538th



538th Compond that later became Camp Nimble.

In Sept/Oct 1966, the 538th Engineer Maint
Company became D Company 4th Maint Bn.
