MODULE II - OPERATING PROCEDURES
The NET CALL is a "sacred" activity of C.I.R.C.L.E. 5 or any amateur radio club for that matter. It is during this time when all members of the club converge or "check-in" for a social and technical gathering. This is the most appropriate occasion to relay traffic, bulletin or announcements and in making contacts. The Club President or any club officer usually gives important announcements during the Net Call. Therefore, it is imperative that all members should stay on monitor. Non-members are also welcome to join the net call and should be extended the proper accommodation. The net call is handled by a Control station, or the club station control, or may be handled by members, preferably by a DU on rotation basis. All "check-ins", announcements and emergency calls are properly recorded by the Control in the Club Log Book. The Net Call of C.I.R.C.L.E. 5 is composed of the following: RULES DURING THE NET 1. Always check in with your amateur call sign. 2. Never use the word "Break" when checking in to the net. Stations with emergency traffic, however, are allowed to break-in anytime during the net. (See also "When To Use The Breaks") 3. The word "CONTACT" is used when the station you wish to contact with has just checked in to the net. "Permission to pull-out," or "Permission to contact automatic" is not allowed during the net. The Net Control establishes the contact and assigns/designates the QSY frequency for both contacting stations. Thus: |   |
4. "CHECK BACK" or "CHECKING BACK" is used when the two stations previously on QSY/QSO check back into the Net: 5. "QSP" or "RELAY" is used when another station, other than the Control, hears a checking in station with a weak signal; or when the Control requests for a QSP for the distant or weak station: (All member-stations are encouraged to be on alert for any QSP) |
