I was born in 1966 in Leningrad,Russia.
When I was 10,I met with my friend whose father(Vitaly) was a radio
amateur.Soon thanks to him I interested in HAM radio,he gave me much help.
As you could guess his call is UA1ARO.
My first RX
Soon after I made my first SW 3 tubes radio and heard by this one a lot of
amateur radio stations including Vitaly, of course .In city radioclub I
studied CW and became a SWL. 2 years after I got amateur radio license UA1AJA.By
this time my hobby had determined my profession - I had chosen to be a
radiocommunication engineer and began to learn in Leningrad Telecommunication
Institute.In mid-80 I took attention to space communication,made a simple CW
transmitter for 145 Mhz and made thousands of contacts through RS
sattelites.And one of them was also with Vitaly.
Ages passed away,I change my country and my call, but recently I heard on 18
Mhz "CQ de UA1ARO" ,called him and got an answer. Really there aren't any distances for a friendship.
