Annually, the National Weather Service recognizes the importance of the amateur radio service and community weather spotters by hosting SKYWARN Recognition Day. It is co-sponsored with the ARRL.
This web page details the arrangements at the Honolulu, Hawaii office prior to the event.
This event is sponsored by the National Weather Service - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The Event Objective
For all amateur stations to exchange QSO information with as many National Weather Service Stations as possible on 80, 40, 20, 15, 10, 6 and 2 meter bands plus the 70 centimeter band (please note Hawaii is only using 40, 20, 2 meters and 70 centimeter frequencies).
