Amateur Radio Helps NASA Study Space Weather
The University of Scranton,
800 Linden Street, Scranton, PA

Amateur radio is playing an increasingly important role in
scientific research, thanks to a new NASA-funded initiative. The University
of Scranton, led by Dr. Nathaniel Frissell, W2NAF, has received a grant to
bring space weather education and citizen science to communities nationwide.
Working with the ARRL and HamSCI, this five-year project will deploy space
weather monitoring stations and establish public Discovery Stations providing
students, educators, and amateur radio operators with opportunities to participate
in real scientific research. For

watts but packing plenty of punch. Our goal was to have fun as a team and
learn from each other. Special thanks to those who helped with the planning,
setup, and cleanup. Here is to more great team collaborations.
