WELCOME TO AMATEUR TELEVISION

This guide is intended for the Radio Amateur who is interested in Amateur Television (ATV). No previous knowledge of ATV is assumed, and the largely non-technical information will guide you through the mysteries of Aerials, Cables, Connectors, Receivers, Transmitters, Repeaters and much more. It is essential reading for anyone who has wondered whether they could participate in the hobby of Amateur Television.

For more information on how to obtain an Amateur Radio licence, which does require that you to pass a "City & Guilds" Examination, please write to the:-

Radio Society of Great Britian
Lambda House
Cranbourne Road
Potters Bar
Herts EN6 3JE

Enclosing a large (SAE)

Or go to their web site http://www.rsgb.org.uk/

Don't let the idea of exmainations put you off from this facsinating hobby, you will find fellow "Radio Amateurs" more than willing to provide you with help and additional encouragement. Most large UK cities will have at least one Amateur Radio Club. The meetings are usually very informal and will provide you with the chance to meet people with similar interests to your own.

Here we present an additional aspect, that of moving pictures via Fast Scan Television. We hope to be able to captivate you to try out our mode.
