HOW TO INSTALL
AGW PACKET ENGINE

- Software needed:
WINSOCK Ver.2 for Win95 (WS2SETUP.EXE);
AGWPE (AGWPE.ZIP); (AGW
PACKET ENGINE 's Home Page on http://www.raag.org/sv2agw/
);
DRIVER (DRIVERS.ZIP, SYSTEM.ZIP);
- At first install WINSOCK Ver.2 (for Windows 95
only) (you can download it from SV2AGW's web site or from Microsoft or other); just click
on the icon;
- Install AGWPE (ver. 2000.50 o later), in a
directory called (i.e.) AGW;
- In AGWPE.INI, under the voice TCPIPINTERCONNECT,
make sure there is ENABLE=1 (or select WINSOCK Interface right-clicking with the mouse on
AGWPE icon);
- Remember that agw packet engine is fully
functional; only if you use dial up adapter and tcpip (AGWDIAL.ZIP) you can use it only
for 45 minutes, than need to register: but you can make packet without using tcpip and
dial-up!
When you load agw packet engine, right-click on the icon and select DIAL UP NETWORK; than
select THANK'S NO TCPIP.
- Run AGWPE.EXE and right-click on the icon;
select PROPERTIES > NEW PORT and in the window TNC SETUP configure in this way:
SERIAL PORT : 1 or 2.. where there is the modem modem;
BAUDRATE : 1200;
TNC TYPE : BAYCOM SERIAL;
KISS : KISS SIMPLE;
PORT : SINGOL;
OPZION : Address and IRQ of the Com port you are using;
TNC RADIO PORT: it's just a name for the port;
In the window TNC COMAND:
if you allow the software setting itself, just select BAUDRATE=1200;
If it's the first time you are running AGWPE make sure there is only one radio port
(baycom serial) (or remember to select it); now EXIT and re-load AGWPE.
Now you can run one of the following software
(also all together!):
NOTE:
- Using a modem with external power supply there
are no problem at all, but using a modem which gets voltage directly from Serial Port, you
can have some problem running under windows (some program changes serial port's pin status
time to time).
