My story starts out from skimming on my scanner, looking for new frequencies to add and listen to. As I was scanning I came across a local (Friendship Net) Confused to what it was I set and monitored it.
(The station was: KY4ARC)
Google searched the frequency and it came to a local repeater system I didn't know we had. I looked online to what a friendship net was, came out to be a place where people would check in around a set time and had conversation on the repeater system.
Curious I dug deeper into the world of (Ham Radio) Studied, Seen stories shared of contacts and contest from all over the world.
Purchased my first radio (Baofeng UV-5R) and learned how to program the local repeater, The more I monitored it the more I wanted to join. From that moment on I studied and studied. Still learning more as we speak Finally Took the test after months of studing, passed both my technician and general on the same day.
I'm currently saving up to buy an HF rig before I get my Extra class.
