Brian's Kayak Journal- Day 023

I joined the forward deck beam. Since I this required very little epoxy, I decided to do some more joining. Since joining the ends (front and rear) and taping the ends (front and rear) requires opening up the ends to get epoxy between them (and then closing them up again) I did this at the same time.

Maybe this will make more sense: I opened up both ends, and applied unthickened epoxy to the shear clamps and to the inside panels (and the forward deck beam). I applied epoxy to fiber glass and placed a piece to each end. I then applied thickened epoxy to the sheer clamps and panels and forward deck beam. I then closed up the ends and screwed in the forward deck beam. I applied leftover epoxy to any place that needed it.
