How to prepare your DXCC application...
We all know waht DXCC is. It is the award with the biggest accpetance in ham radio. You need at least 100 confirmed entities to gain DXCC in a total of 338. See the complete dxcc list and prefixes. If you want to check youw qsos for dxcc you must do one of the following:
- Send your card to ARRL
- send you cards to an authorised checker (see the list of authorized checkers)
- submit your application electronically via LotW
In every case you have advanatges and disadvantages. In first case have in mind:
- we need to make just an application
- we can submit any card without any limitation
- Shipping cost is more expencive plus the danger to loose the cards
In second case. You can check your cards in a local checker in your club or in a hamfest. Then you need to know:
- You need to submit a record shhet plus the application
- Shipping cost is zero
- We can not check cards for 160m
Download the application plus the record sheet in the following link

How to write the application
Check on the left side where it says "New Award(s)" if you submit for a dxcc award for the first time.
Check on the left side where it says "Endorsement(s)" if you submit for second time just to upgrade your dxcc totals.
If you have submitted an application via LOTW check here also.
Write here the number of QSL cards enclosed
In next row write the number of QSOs. Give attention that qsos number is not neccessary the same with the qsls number. If we have a qso in a qsl which we don't want to be checked then it's better to make a not for this.
Write your Call Sign and in the next row where it writes Ex Calls, write every old or special call you had in past and you want to submit cards also. Fo example i have used SX2004D and SV1DPI/8. This is what i need to write here. Take attention that only qsos made from the same entity counts to your dxcc totals.
Write your Name and address. Don't forget to Check if this is a new address". This is needed only if you submit for second time and you had a different address the previous one.
Write in next time your Name as you want to Appear on Certificate.Write your Telephone# and E-mail.
Don't forget to sign the application and write your call again, the submission date and the expiration date if you are an ARRL member as you have a discount in this case. (you can find this in qst label if you don't remember or in ARRL web site)

DXCC Record Dheet
You don't need to write a record sheet for DXCC if you submit in ARRL. Instead of this you must write this if you submit in a checker.
Write your call on the upper left and the page number as the total number of pages on the upper right.
In the first row you must write Station's Call - qso date- Band - Mode - DXCC entity name
You must prepare separate sheet for every band. We put first the lower band.
If we have cards with multiple qsos and we need these qsos to count, we put them in a separate sheet at the end.
In every sheet we write cw qsos first, digital qsos after and finally ssb qsos. All qsos separated by mode is shorted by entity prefix.
Example
Let's say we need to submit the following cards :
- T77C: qso on 80m CW.
- E77A: qso on 80m RTTY.
- TA7C: qso on 80m SSB.
- I2AC: qso on 40m CW.
- SZ1A: qso on 20m SSB and on 15m CW.
- SP1CAX: qso on 10m CW.
- DL9SN: qso on 10m CW and 17m CW, but we want to check only 10μ CW qso.
- J41K: qso on 10μ CW.
So we must write as following :
- a sheet for 80m. We 'll write here T77C, E77A and TA7C and page 1 of 4.
- a sheet for 40m. We write here I2AC and page 2 of 4
- a sheet for 10m. We write DL9SN (Don't forget that we want to check only 10m cw), SP1CAX and finally J41Κ (main prefix for Greece is not J4 but SV, so it will go after SP), and page 3 of 4.
- Finally a page 4 of 4 where are the cards with multiple qsos. We write SZ1A twice, one for every qso.
