Nets of Note

International Friendship Net

We have all been saddened by the unfortunate passing of Rick Rule, VE3RYK in April, 2025.

Rick was this net's longtime control operator. So, going forward, the LCRC Executive has voted to combine this net with the International Newcomer's net as well as set a new net starting time.

This net will now meet every Thursday evening starting at 8:30 PM on the 145.37(-) VE3SAR repeater.  The net's stated purpose is to take check-ins, foster international good will, and pass along timely information of interest to both newcomers to Amateur Radio as well as other local Radio Amateurs in both Canada and the United States.

In addition, rather than having a single net control operator, the new net coordinator, Ken Williams, VA3KWZ, is seeking volunteer net control operators to call this net on a rotating basis.  If you would like to participate in this activity, please send Ken an email at: [email protected] and express your interest.

Ontario Amateur Radio Service (ONTARS)

Serving the Ontario Amateur Radio community, it bills itself as "a friendly meeting place for all Amateurs". This net meets daily from 7 AM (Local time) to 6 PM (local time) on 3.755 MHz (75 Metres).  More detailed information about the net, including Net Control operator schedules, can be found at www.ontars.com
