Many hours where spent by many people over the old electric jack hammer. 

This machine was hired each Sunday for a full day of jack hammering away at the Tic Hill rock. 

From memory it took about 5 Sundays to break up the rock for removal. 

An hour's stretch was about all the hands could take before handing the hammer on to the next in line. 

The constant vibration left your hands numb. 
We where all pleased to see the end of this phase of the project.
