SSTV Repeaters
Hi
Christine, well
it has taken a while but I got around to
putting pen to paper,
be
it a short note, attached is a brief update of
the present situation,
could
yo do what you do so well with it then
pass it on for the broadcast,
sorry
to be so brief, Ray VK6ET.
Since my move to Geraldton
things have had to change due to space restrictions,
still things are all working well even though there are
a few cables hanging on the back patio,
we are running three
SSTV Repeaters again on 7.050, 14.227 and 21.349Mhz,
the main change to these is that they now recognize and work for
Digital SSTV
as well as the analogue mode, this is due mainly to the efforts of Erik
VK4AES,
he did a great job developing SSTV Pal MultiMode, yours truly then
suggested a
further developement to make it work as a Repeater.
It is still under developement but is running well at this site,
the beacon is not yet as instructive as previous but they are
there and
they come every 30 minutes, QRM allowing, based on the hour
so it makes it easier to check propagation, the beacon is always in
analogue
as it is less sensitive to frequency than the Digital mode,
attached to the Beacon is my new E-mail address,
reports would be appreciated.
If you do access the repeater with a 1750 tone
the change you will notice is that on the call and K there is a dual
tone,
this is not feed back, it is a tone for those wishing to send a Digital
picture
to assist them to accurately ascertain the repeater frequency.

To help maintain the repeaters for
our retirement years,
because we will have to hide small
antennae inside
or use hand-held radios.
We will need "gateways" linked
repeater systems.

ECHO-IRLP
In
summary, it does not allow
any form of cross linking
between IRLP and EchoLink.
What it does offer however, is the ability for IRLP nodes to also
have full connectivity to the EchoLink network.
