This repeater site is arguably the most picturest.
Located on the Brand Highway
200 KM North of Perth in farming land mixed with natural bush, it stands on top of a flat topped hill. Much of the area is covered with Blackboys and areas of trees. From the site looking West, the large sand hill area North of Lancelin can be seen some 40 kilometres away. |
The Cataby Road House on the Brand Highway
is about 4 kilometres from the site.

The site was constructed in 1984 over a couple
of months and consists of a garden shed and a 60' (19M) guyed mast.
The original repeater was a modified Icom IC22a, which has since been replaced with an FM880. |

The site has had a mixed operational performance
with many equipment failures, many of which go un-noticed
or un-reported for several months. This is in part due to there being no perminat amateurs living in the area during much of the site's existance. This repeater was installed to offer coverage for travelling amateurs along the Brand Highway and as the first step in the linking of Perth to the North. As of July 1997 the repeater has been put back
into service.
