When DX-ing from my home, I use multiple radios...
In AM mode, I generally use a 'performance enhanced'
"Cobra 29LTD Chrome" using a genuine VFO wind up and
a 'news chime' or 'glass breaking' keyup sound effect
with a "Silver K Eagle" desk microphone.
I will sometimes use a "Galaxy DX-2547" with direct
injection from a Remall studio podcast microphone.
In SSB mode, I use the "Galaxy DX-2547" with an "Echo
Max 2000" desk microphone rarely using any type of
attention getting sounds since sideband is much
easier to pick my transmission out of the hash.
For a vertical antenna, I use an "I-MAX 2000".
For a horizontal antenna, I use a "Yaesu YA-30".
DX-ing while mobile from my vehicles...
When in my work van, I use an "Anytone AT-6666" with
a made-by-me single low-toned short roger beep on a
stock hand microphone on a "Stryker SR-A-10" antenna.
When in my personal car, I use another "Anytone AT-6666"
I own with the same made-by-me single low-toned short
roger beep on a stock mic on a "Stryker SR-A-10" antenna.
