FreeDV
A revolution started a while ago with the advent of Digital Radio Mondiale.
As with all communications technologies, amateur radio operators were quick
to employ methods of digital communications.
FreeDV makes use of this technology but goes a step beyond with the
availability of Codec-2, an open source program.
If you are curious about this mode, why not go to the web site
and see for yourself.

There is also a real-time FreeDV QSO finder and you can check this out at

Are you hooked yet? Still don't have that ticket?
No time like the present to join the growing number of people who have
studied for their license and received acknowledgment of their accomplishment
upon passing the FCC examination with a station/operator license.
Please note that each license class has a range of privileges --
you must hold at least a General Class license to participate in this
mode of communication.
