Slow-scan Television
Even though my station is low power and the antenna is less than ideal,
I can still participate in this mode and have successfully sent and received
images using analogue SSTV.
Below is a sample of my Send/Receive Screen

You have likely guessed at this point, there are so many possible ways in which
amateur radio operators communicate over the air.
As with anything - listening first is a key skill. When setting up your
transmitter
on this mode, and any digital mode, it is important to adjust the output from
your
soundcard to the radio for no ALC action. I usually raise the sound level
just
enough to see ALC swing then back it down until there is no swing.
This ensures that your signal does not distort and thereby cause splattering (a
potential
problem causing wider than normal bandwidth). I refer to this condition as
overdriving the transmitter and it results in a "dirty" signal.
If you are not being heard by other stations then be patient - don't resort to
practices such as overdriving your transmitter -- your final stage will thank
you
and others on the air will too!
