Brian's Kayak Journal- Day 002

Cleared brush out of the KAB. Rest of day spent doing yard work

I figured since I am going to do a lot of epoxy work, I should experiment some I epoxied some scrap lumber together. I put some in a tall container and some in flat one, and observed the hardening time. I also made a measuring device (see next paragraph)

Take a paper cup, and cut a tall window in it. Fill a second cup with a measured (I used the cap from cough medicine) amount. Mark this amount on the outer cup. Do this for several measurements. Since the epoxy I am using is 5:1, I marked 0.5 and 3 fluid ounces. Also 1 and 6 teaspoons. Then put a clean cup in the marking cup and pour away. One pump was pretty close to 1/5 teaspoons. I read this technique somewhere, but can't find it

I also dry fit the keel panels, sanding them a bit.
