Be sure to follow local VHF or UHF simplex channel assignments (and avoid operations in any of the satellite bands).

This system does not have any call sign identifier on the mobile repeater station. Please ID the repeater in accordance with your country's regulatory requirements! If a specific identifier function/type must be used in your country for mobile repeaters -- follow your local regulations and not this guide...

System was tested with all radios in low TX power setting. Use care not to overheat your AT-D578 if running higher transmit power levels at the mobile repeater. (The TX duty cycle is slightly less than 50% for the DMR repeater, but high throughput / repeated traffic levels may lead to heat build-up over time with continuous use.)

Radio must show T2 for time slot when in receive mode. Radio transmits on T1 and receives on T2 when setup properly.

Single Frequency / Dual Slot Repeater Operations:
Observe the front of AT-578 mobile while transmitting on one of the AT-D878 portables. The mobile’s signal reception indicator should turn orange in color while receiving and repeating the received signal from T1 to T2, then briefly turn red at the end of the transmission before turning off. When repeating signals, a small red TX indicator will illuminate on the upper right portion of the B-channel display. This turns off when the repeater is not receiving/re-transmitting signals.

Note the AT-D578 microphone and PTT controls are disabled while in radio repeater mode (menu controls on both handset and on radio work).
