A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE 31 TO 39 MPH OR
        GUSTS WILL RANGE BETWEEN 46 AND 57 MPH. WINDS OF THESE MAGNITUDES MAY CAUSE MINOR PROPERTY
        DAMAGE WITHOUT EXTRA PRECAUTIONS. MOTORISTS IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES SHOULD USE CAUTION
        UNTIL THE WINDS SUBSIDE. A HIGH WIND WATCH MEANS THAT THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR
        STRONG DAMAGING WINDS TO DEVELOP. THESE STRONG WINDS CAN CAUSE TREES AND POWER LINES TO
        FALL AS WELL AS CAUSING PROPERTY DAMAGE. IF A HIGH WIND WARNING IS ISSUED...IT IS ADVISED
        TO STAY INSIDE..AND AWAY FROM WINDOWS. 
        A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN A COMBINATION OF SNOW AND WIND ARE
        FORECAST TO DEVELOP IN THE AFFECTED AREAS, BUT ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LIGHT.
        WHILE THE WEATHER WILL BE SIGNIFICANT, THE WORD ADVISORY IMPLIES THAT SEVERE WINTER
        WEATHER IS NOT ANTICIPATED. CONDITIONS WILL MAKE DRIVING AND WALKING DIFFICULT BUT NOT
        IMPOSSIBLE ON UNTREATED ROADWAYS AND SIDEWALKS.  
        A SNOW ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN LIGHT SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP, BUT ONLY
        ENOUGH TO CAUSE INCONVENIENCES SUCH AS TRAVEL DELAYS. NO SEVERE WINTER WEATHER IS EXPECTED
        AT THIS TIME.  
        A WINTER STORM WATCH IS ISSUED WHEN SEVERE WINTER WEATHER IS POSSIBLE, BUT NOT
        IMMINENT. AT THE TIME, THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW AND/OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS.
        FUTURE DRIVING AND WALKING CONDITIONS MAY BECOME HAZARDOUS, SO IT IS IMPORTANT TO MONITOR
        THE LATEST FORECASTS.  
        A WINTER STORM WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN SEVERE WINTER WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO
        OCCUR. HEAVY SNOW IS FORECAST TO ACCUMULATE IN THE AFFECTED AREAS CAUSING HAZARDOUS
        DRIVING CONDITIONS. THOSE WITH TRAVEL PLANS IN THE WARNING AREA ARE ADVISED TO CHOOSE AN
        ALTERNATE ROUTE...OR SHOULD USE EXTREME CAUTION IF TRAVEL IS UNAVOIDABLE.  
        MONITOR STAGE... INITIAL ACTION STAGE...ALONG UNLEVEED SECTIONS OF THE
        RIVER...OVERBANK FLOWS MAY COVER LOW-LYING LANDS AND LOCAL ROADS. ALONG FLOOD CONTROL
        PROJECT LEVEES...LEVEE PATROLS BECOME MANDATORY. AT A WEIR...THE POINT AT WHICH OVERFLOW
        BEGINS AT THE WEIR.   
        FLOOD STAGE... ALONG UNLEVEED SECTIONS OF THE RIVER...OVERBANK FLOWS ARE OF
        SUFFICIENT MAGNITUDE TO CAUSE CONSIDERABLE INUNDATION OF LAND AND ROADS...OR SIGNIFICANT
        HAZARD TO LIFE AND PROPERTY. ALONG FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT LEVEES...THIS IS THE STAGE AT
        WHICH THE FLOW WITHIN THE LEVEE IS AT MAXIMUM DESIGN CAPACITY.   
        A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR FLOODING IN AND AROUND THE
        WATCH AREA. PERSONS LIVING ALONG OR PLANNING ACTIVITIES NEAR RIVERS AND SMALL STREAMS IN
        THE WATCH AREA SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS WEATHER SITUATION. BE
        PREPARED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR A WARNING IS ISSUED.  
        DANGER STAGE... ALONG FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT LEVEES...FLOW IS GREATER THAN
        MAXIMUM DESIGN CAPACITY. THIS IS GENERALLY ONE FOOT ABOVE FLOOD STAGE.   |
