How to request VE1/VA1 amateur radio call-sign plates

The form for Amateur Radio Plates is available at Access Nova Scotia or here as a PDF.

An individual requesting Amateur Radio Plates for the first time must complete sections 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7c of the form (Section 5 must be completed if vehicle owner is different) and forwarded to:

Mr. Cohoon will approve and forward the form 2 to our Dartmouth ANS office. The individual must have an existing valid plate, in their name only, to replace. If the existing registration is due to expire, the applicant should include the renewal fee. (Cheque or money order) along with their application.

If a replacement VE1/VA1 plates are required (worn or damaged) the applicant must complete a form 2 (sections 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6) and forwarded it, along with the $11.30 replacement plate fee (cheque or money order) to the attention of:

The VE1/VA1 plates will be received from the manufacturer within 6 - 8 weeks. Once the plates are received by the Dartmouth (Access Nova Scotia) office, they will be sent to the applicant, along with corresponding vehicle permit and sticker (same expiry as their existing plate).
