The WIA (Wireless Institute of Australia) is the National body
responsible for setting National technical standards for Australian
Amateurs
National standards such as co-ordinating frequencies for
voice repeaters, digital repeaters and beacons
A committee, as part of the Federal WIA,
FTAC (Federal Technical Advisory Committee)
co-ordinates each WIA division
In Western Australia because
we belive it is important to have liason between
the FTAC (Federal Technical Advisory Committee) and
the Divisions on technical matters, we formed
WESTAC (West Australian Technical Advisory Committee)
to provide comments and feedback to FTAC.
Eddie VK6ZSE is the present Chairperson and Co-ordinator,
he has a team (of advisors) from most facits of our hobby.
If you feel that your area of expertise
might be lacking good advice and could use
your help,
please contact WESTAC at the following address,
It will be helpful if you are on Packet or Email.

EQUIPMENT
DISPOSALS
The WIA has a Special dispensation from the
ACA
for this to be a part of the WIA news broadcast
only.
A list of for sale and wanted items is read out
during the Sunday morning news broardcast.
It is unfortunate but even the WIA are not allowed
to put this list on the packet bulletin boards.
Roy also maintains a register of stolen equipment
so if you are unfortunate give Roy your details.
You may use Phone, Fax or Email to
get your information to Roy by Friday afternoon.

VALVE BANK
The majority of the valves are used of course, but there is also
a number of new unused valves in their original cartons
which were purchased by the division some years ago.
If you have any valves that you no longer require,
why not swap or donate them to the division's valve bank,
where they may be of help to someone else.
W.I.A. valve bank custodian is

and has a small collection of crystals

If you have any crystals that you no longer require,

EQUIPMENT SALVAGE
If you know of any equipment that might be suitable for amateur
purposes
that is being thrown away, or disposed of at a reasonable (cheap)
price,
would you please consider your fellow amateur and give Cliff a call.
Some of you will remember the Exmouth gear of a few years ago,
that came through this office.
