Minutes of Council Meeting 6th January 2004
Held at CWA House, Hay St., West Perth

Visitors are welcome

The meeting commenced at 1945 with the Past President, Cliff VK6LZ in the chair

The Division is governed by a Council consisting of President. Vice President, and seven Councillors, plus *two Ex-officio Councillors.

(1)    MINUTES:

The minutes of the December meeting, were read by Cliff VK6LZ

Business arising:

1.1(1.4)    The Membership Certificate Design has been completed
1.2(7.1).    Minutes of recent Federal Sydney Meeting (on ACA submission) have still not been received.

The Minutes were accepted (VK6XV/VK6HTW

(2a)    CORRESPONDENCE    IN    Secretary:- Roy VK6XV.

2.1    Donation of ARRL Handbook and Antenna Book received and passed to
         Education Officer.

2.2    Donation of $25 Received from VK4OF/6 - passed to Treasurer.
         Donation of $5 from VK6UM - passed to Treasurer.
2.3.    Telstra Secretary’s Phone Bill $134.18 - passed to Treasurer.
2.4    ACA Licence for VK6RBP.

(4)    BROADCAST OFFICERS REPORT -

Neil VK6BDO will be putting a tape prepared by Dennis to Air on Sunday 11th January.

(5)    MEMBERSHIP REPORT - Christine VK6ZLZ

(6)    EDUCATION REPORT - Neil VK6BDO

6.1.   Neil reported that there were 8 candidates at the last exam, 4 passed, 4 will
         re-attempt in February.

6.2   There are 26 on the list for the 2004 courses (21 Novices and 5 Unrestricted)
        the venue for courses has been changed to the Hillview Scout Hall in Gibbs St.
        East Cannington.


(7)    FEDERAL REPORT - Trevor VK6HTW

Nothing to Report

(8)    GENERAL BUSINESS

8.1.    An E-Mail has been received from Will VK6UU offering to write the VK6
          Notes column in AR - The offer was accepted with thanks.


8.2    Neil VK6BDO reported that an exam was required by someone in Mt
         Newman and that Ron Bertram had agreed to send exam papers.
         Council agreed that in the absence of invigilators in the area it would be ok
         if the exam was held by a local public officer such as a JP or Police officer.


8.3    VK6ZLZ proposed that Rex Wiggins of Exmouth be appointed as an
         invigilator if willing.

         ACTION VK6BDO to follow up.

8.4    Proposed LZ/BDO that councillors receive a free copy of the call book if
         required. Carried


 (9)    Meeting Closed at 2020 hours followed by a general discussion over tea.
